When it comes all the way down to it, what do youngsters truly want?  Do they want clothes?  Not likely.  How about faculty supplies?  Not especially.  Do they want to have nutritious healthy meals on the table?  That is not something that they actually care about is it?  What they actually desire is youngsters toys.  Sadly, we need to make sure that the crucial things, the mandatory things, come first.  That doesn’t usually leave a lot for the things they really desire does it?  But there are plenty of choices available to getting the things your youngsters need while still giving them the things they actually need.

At one point people went to garage sales to find inexpensive youngsters toys.  But hitting the garage sale circuit takes a lot of time and if you’re searching for something specific it can be very aggravating to grasp that you could have to spend weeks to find it.  The Net is your year long virtual garage sale.  You’ll find multitudes of sites that offer gently loved kids toys that you can afford.  Not only can you afford it, but you can buy it from the comfort of your own residence, with no need to spend some time or gas money.  Thanks to world shipping, it could also be despatched immediately to your doorstep with little extra cost.

At the same time that you are finding the toys that your children actually need, you can also cut back the clutter of forgotten children toys that are filling up their toy rooms, storage bins, and closets in your place.  Selling toys that were loved by your youngsters during the past and they’ve now outgrown doesn’t get any easier than selling them on the web.  Why hold a garage sale or spend money to post an ad in the paper when you can put up a simple picture and an advertisement online?  As you sell the toys they no longer play with you can bring in a little extra money to spend on the toys they really desire.  Now you can afford to buy the things they need and give them what they want at the same time!

Finding kids toys that are unique, fun, and cheap saves you time and cash.  It takes the strain of bargain hunting from store to store out of your life.  Your house becomes less cluttered, your children get the toys they want, and you save money to buy them the necessary things in life.

You will find a good selection of toys on the Top Toys website including some excellent boys toys including the Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0

Children’s playground games come and go all the time. They are created by a child on a whim one day, played for little while and dropped shortly after. One game though has been played for generations and is staple in any school child’s experience. This game is of course ‘tag’. This basically involves one or more people being ‘on’ and chasing others around the playground ‘tagging’ other people. When another child is ‘tagged’ they then have to chase others and the original chaser becomes one of the people who are chased. It’s a very simple game that promotes agility and spatial awareness, as well as improves teamwork and of course fitness levels.  You don’t need any toys, and also it can be played anywhere.

The UK government howe ever feel that the it can act to discriminate and it is also unsafe. Thus, they have clearly said it should not be taking place in school. Their argument is that this game is often played on hard ground and children can hurt themselves quite badly. They also say that the game can often escalate into a more physical tussle when there become agreement over whether someone has been caught or not.Their other issue with the game is that when people predictably get left out, this can lead to children feeling isolated.Harold James from the Education Committee says “the unpopular children are often not chosen to take part in the game or are ignored all together….we favour games that are more inclusive”. Mr James went on to say that it also excludes those people with physical disabilities as they have often have no chance of competing in the game.

Games outlawed by the government in the UK already include mercy, conkers, kiss chase and British bulldog. It does leave you wondering what children are allowed to do these days  and whether we are wrapping our children in cotton wool just a little too much. We need to take the wheels from the training bikes one day don’t we?

It was a quite an eye opener the other day when I was invited to a rather large family gathering. All ages were there from babies to their grandparents.

The organiser of the party had enough common sense to have the foresight to realise that in order to help to make things run smoothly there had to be some sort of entertainment for the little ones. Things can get quite chaotic when there are a room full of kids with nothing much to occupy them!

In one corner she had organised a table with a variety of art supplies for the children. There were crayons, stickers, drawing pads and pots of paint. They were asked to come up with the best picture which would then be judged and there was a prize to be won.

A number of small board games such as draughts and ludo were at another table for the slightly older children and the more serious children seemed happy to get stuck into these. I noticed that one of the older boys was quite happily entertaining a small group of children by reading them their favourite story.

Another rather novel idea was that someone provided all the slightly older ones with small disposable cameras. This kept them amused for ages and it was also a great way for the quieter children to break the ice and interact with the adults. Mind you this was not necessary with most of them who were snapping away and having a great time.

When it comes to big family get togethers it can sometimes be the case that you come away feeling somewhat jaded especially if you are the parent of a child full of energy, so what a great idea, this takes the pressure off everyone. It took just a bit of extra thought but was well worth it and the adults and children all had a brilliant time
